Together, we can provide animals with shelter and lifesaving medical care, help families adopt new pets, rescue animals from cruelty and neglect, and so much more. In the coming year, we will care for more than 40,000 animals in need! By joining the Walk for Animals, you'll help give each one the second chance they deserve!
Rain or shine, gates will open at 9 AM on Saturday, May 3, at the International Bazaar in the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. We'll begin walking at 10 AM and wrap up our fun-filled day by 1 PM.
All animal lovers are welcome at the Walk! Didn't fundraise? No problem. There are still plenty of opportunities to make a difference for vulnerable local animals at the Walk with cash, credit card, and virtual payment donations.
Walk route and location
This year, we're back at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds to celebrate second chances.
Walkers will start on Underwood Street. The walk route is approximately one mile, and you can turn around at any time or make additional loops for a longer route.
How to bring your pet to the Walk
For the safety of your dog and others, we highly recommend a 4’ or 6’ flat leash. Retractable leashes are not advised.
We also recommend small animals like cats, rabbits, and ferrets enjoy the Walk for Animals from the comfort and safety of a carrier or covered stroller.
What to bring
Good news: There’s no need to check in with staff on Walk day to pick up fundraising prizes! To make it convenient for our Walk attendees, any prize earned will be shipped to you following the event.
You may mail your donations in advance (must be postmarked by May 9 to be counted towards your prize level). If you prefer to drop off your cash and check donations along with a completed donation tracking form, you can do so on Walk day at the donation drop-off tent.
Cash for food and merchandise purchases as not all vendors take credit cards. ATMs are also available at the event.
Weather-appropriate clothing and supplies such as hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, or an umbrella.
To reduce waste, please bring your own water in a reusable container.
Food, entertainment, and more
After you walk, it's time to celebrate all you’ve helped make possible for animals! The Walk features an array of food and beverage vendors to delight your taste buds, as well as an incredible lineup of local retailers, rescues, and pet service providers. See who'll be joining us.
We'll also have live a band and a number of fun activities for pets and people alike! Stop by the International Bazaar to dive into the fun.
Event schedule
9 AM: Walk for Animals grounds open
Activities, vendors, and food trucks are ready for your arrival.
Donation drop-off
Drop off your donations any time between 9 AM and 12:30 PM to be counted toward your fundraising goal and the prize level you earned.
Note: Your fundraising prize(s) will be mailed to you after the event.
10 AM: Walk begins!
We’ll kick off the Walk at 10 AM. The one-mile route will be available for thousands of animal lovers and their pets to prove that every step is a second chance.
11 AM: Pet costume contest begins
Sign your pet up for the costume contest at the main stage by 10:45 AM on Walk day. Space is limited.
12:30 PM: Donation drop-off closes
1 PM: Walk for Animals grounds close

Thursday, May 2 – Donation drop off at the Arle Memorial Hall from 4 – 8pm Friday, May 3 – Donation drop off 8am - 12pm, shop from 12 – 6pm Saturday, May 4 – Shop 8:30am – 2pm, Clearance Sale starts at noon (anything you can fit into a bag for $2! Bag provided)
Item Drop Off Details:
We are seeking donations of new or clean, gently used items to sell. Please refrain from bringing rummage sale items to the shelter, as we do not have the space to safely store and transport them.
You can drop off rummage sale items at the Arle Memorial Hall on Thursday, May 2 from 4 - 8pm and Friday, May 3 from 8am - 12pm and receive a tax donation receipt if you'd like!
***Unfortunately, we are unable to accept large appliances, clothing, computer towers, televisions, or large furniture. Clean and gently used items only, please. (However, we are able to accept flat screen TVs and flat screen computer monitors in working condition, as well as a few other exceptions. Please call if you have any questions!)

The Baltimore Humane Society Memorial Park holds a monthly bereavement group to help you cope with the loss or extreme illness of a pet. Anyone whose pet has died, who has been lost, or is ailing/aging is welcome to join the group. This group meeting will be held virtually on Tuesday, May 6 from 7 pm – 9 pm.
The group is a haven where individuals can freely talk about their pet knowing others are interested in hearing their story. It is a place of emotional and practical support, helping participants cope with their loss. Please join our free, non-denominational group, led by a bereavement counselor. You do not need to have your pet buried in Baltimore Humane Society Memorial Park to join the group. All are welcome!

Pet Walk is the Wisconsin Humane Society’s annual family-friendly walk to support animals in need and this year, we hope you'll join us to celebrate 26 years of Pet Walk GB! This fun-filled event is the largest and oldest fundraiser for animals at our Green Bay Campus, and features a leisurely stroll through the park, as well as music, local vendors, a doggie costume contest, family-friendly activities, plus games and treats for our four-legged participants! Pet Walk is the Wisconsin Humane Society's annual family-friendly run/walk to raise funds for animals in need. The event kicks off with a 5K run/walk or a 1-mile walk followed by a post-race festival featuring musical entertainment, food trucks, vendors and exhibitors, contests, games, and plenty of fun for the whole family.
