Lucky’s Chip Proves Lucky plus “Check The Chip Day”

This week’s tale was brought to our attention
by Lost Dogs of Texas!

In September 2015, nine year old Lucky’s family rushed in a panic to the emergency room to seek care for their young child’s broken arm.  Returning home, they remembered that Lucky had been left in the yard, but was now tragically missing!

Almost one year later, Lucky was found wandering the streets as a stray. Lucky for Lucky, when he was brought in to be scanned, his owner’s efforts paid off!  Not only did he have a microchip, but it was registered and up-to-date.   As a result, he was reunited with his loving family.

Here’s his mom’s post about his reunion!

“A year ago I post a pic of my Lucky, I have great news after long time we got him back yesterday ???????????? a year has passed and he needs a lot of care and love???????? but I’m still happy because we got him back!! WELCOME BACK HOME LUCKY????????” A microchip miracle brought this lucky dog home. He did not have an easy time while lost, see the photo in comments, but home cooking and veterinary care will make Lucky whole again.

After being shaved and having a bath.
Can’t you see in his eyes what he is thinking?
“Momma, is that really you?”

Lucky’s mom says that he has some healing to do, but that overall he’s doing great.  She recommends microchips 100%.

Generation Wags congratulates
Lucky’s family on this very happy reunion
made possible by their registering
and updating his microchip info!

Remember to #LOVETAGCHIP your pet.

So perfect that the National Check The Chip Day
t
his year falls on a Monday, so it ties in beautifully
with our Monday Microchip Miracles!

CheckChipday

Check the Chip Day reminds pet owners to have their vet check their pet’s microchip to be sure it can be read, and a reminder to be sure the microchip is registered and has updated contact info.  And, of course, if your pet is not already microchipped to consider having it done!

Support from HomeAgain, assisted their efforts to develop additional materials to promote the event.

Generation Wags hopes that you’ll share “Check the Chip Day” with others, and act on this reminder!  And, of course, if your pet isn’t already microchipped, to do so.  It could just be their “ticket” home.
